Aaliyah Dana Haughton exploded into fame in 1994, after she released her debut Album Age Ain't Nothing But an Number. The album came out as Gold in the year she turned fifteen years old. R. Kelly was a significant influence in this project which brought her into the limelight. In 1996, Jermaine and Timbaland made Aaliyah's album One In A Million. It contained If You Girls Only Knew the top-selling single. Aaliyah achieved international recognition for her R&B vocals through the release of this album. She starred with the martial arts legend Jet Li in the action-romance film Romeo Must Die. Joel Silver, a film producer who was at an award show at the time she landed the role, noticed her. The film she was in was the Anne Rice-based vampire film Queen of the Damned, it came out in 2002. The Matrix Sequels saw her play Zee and appeared as a character in The Matrix Reloaded (2003) and The Matrix Revolutions that same year. In 1999, 2001, 2002, and 2003 she was nominated to win four Grammy awards. Aarti Mann.....................Aarti Mann also known as Aarti Majumdar is an American actor who is best known for her portrayal of Priya Koothrappali in the popular TV series The Big Bang Theory. The actress is the first Indian American to be who was born in Connecticut. The stage name Mann comes from her married name Mankad. However, she uses both Aarti Mann and Aarti Majumdar for her professional names. Her acting career started in the the mid 2000's, with a few appearances on television and in films. The actress has also been featured in Leverage, Suits, Grey's Anatomy as well as Grey's Anatomy. Her commercials have featured major brands, such as Volvo. She lives in Los Angeles where she continues acting as an actress.
