Avery Sunshine

Avery Sunshine is an enigmatic musician, singer and actor. The singer combines jazz from the soul genre with R&B in a distinct blend. Sunshine has performed everywhere from Broadway to the Democratic National Convention to the European club and festival scenes. Sunshine can be described as Denise White. While she is a resident of Atlanta, she originates in Chester Pennsylvania where she began her musical vocation by singing and playing the piano in churches. The musical journey began for her in Atlanta in Spellman College. In 2005 she was hired as the lead keyboardist for Tyler Perry's stage show Meet the Browns. Jennifer Holliday, who won Tony and Grammy Awards for her vocals, asked Sunshine to join the Dreamgirls production at Atlanta's National Black Arts Festival. Sunshine was recognized nationally through her performances on four consecutive days at the Democratic National Convention. She was later invited to sing in the Obama administration's 2008 inauguration.
