Jeanie Marie Buss was born in the United States. She currently holds the position as the president of Los Angeles Lakers, the NBA's majority owners. Buss is a California native, and was raised by a well-off family. Jerry Buss, her father was a businessman in real estate who eventually became the proprietor of Lakers Entertainment and Sports. When her parents broke up in 1972, she was convinced that they had abandoned her. In the year 19 she was appointed the general manager for the Los Angeles Strings, a professional tennis team. Later, she founded in the Los Angeles Blades, a professional roller-hockey team. Her first role was vice-president for the Lakers before she assumed the presidency of Great Western Forum. Buss her father passed away in 2013 which is when the Lakers were inherited from him by her and five of her siblings via the trust. Every sibling was entitled to an equal number of votes. Buss assumed the role as President of the Los Angeles Lakers. Buss is also the co-owner in Women of Wrestling a pro-wrestling promotion headquartered within Los Angeles.
